During my own childhood, my family was at one point facing imminent homelessness. My father, put one of these special du’as up on our kitchen wall and would ask us to read it every day. I remember we made this du’a every day and very soon Allah SWT moved my family from one of the most impoverished areas of London, to one of the wealthiest. We went from a cramped apartment where I shared a bedroom with three other siblings, to each of us having our own bedrooms and even a garden. Alhamdulillah!
A parent's du’a has a special status and is more likely to be accepted.
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah ď·ş said:
"Three supplications are answered without doubt. The supplication of the oppressed, the supplication of the traveller, and the supplication of the parent for their child."
